Bobby "The Brain" Heenan started out as a manager back in 1965. From there, he went on to manage many of the greats in the AWA, followed by his WWF years, before transitioning into a role as a colour commentator - or "broadcast journalist" - and eventually winding up in WCW until 2000 when he was thrown off the already sinking ship.

As you can expect, Bobby The Brain: Wrestling's Bad Boy Tells All is full of humour which is usually directed at some ham-n-egger or humanoid and almost never self-deprecating. Heenan doesn't write a lot about his pre-wrestling days. He doesn't skip over them, but he tells enough to get by. Infact, very little is covered in detail. All of a sudden you realize a couple pages ago, he was in the '60s and now he's almost in the '80s. His WWF managerial career is largely written about by the Wrestlemania - one paragraph per year. Heenan obviously did not keep a journal of any kind - few in the wrestling business did. That said, he does cover most of the bases. If he didn't include an event in his book, it must not have been significant to him.

Bobby The Brain: Wrestling's Bad Boy Tells All may not be the War and Peace of wrestling books, but it is a quick and fun read. Bobby has plenty of great Andre the Giant stories, funny midget stories, lots of ribs and much more. It also includes a rare foreword by Hulk Hogan. The majority of the book is very light in tone with a heart-warming story near the end, followed by Bobby Heenan getting the news of his cancer diagnosis (which he is still fighting at the time of this writing). Bobby The Brain: Wrestling's Bad Boy Tells All may not be a must-read for all wrestling fans, but if you're looking for an easy read, you won't be disappointed in reading it.
