World Wrestling Entertainment (or World [Wide] Wrestling Federation) has gone from a geographically small regional promotion to a national and eventually an international promotion worth hundreds of millions of dollars. And through it all, only one name is associated with it - McMahon.
World Wrestling Insanity takes you inside the biggest wrestling company in history and breaks down its eccentricities. The cover features Vince and Stephanie McMahon pointing to a statue of Triple H that reads "Thy Game." That is essentially what the book is about. The McMahon Family and how they treat their company, their employees, their wrestlers and their fans. Some of the things the book looks at are Triple H's feuds, the Diva Search, hazing, wrestling stereotypes, Talent Relations VP John Laurinaitis and other course a lot about the McMahon Family. It also includes quotes from wrestlers and other personalities such as Terry Funk, D'Lo Brown, Kamala, Charlie Haas, Elix Skipper, Aaron Aguilera, Missy Hyatt, Amy Weber, Honky Tonk Man, Lanny Poffo and Tom Prichard.
World Wrestling Insanity is light-hearted in nature and a very quick read. James Guttman uses a lot of humour in the book which you will either love or not care for - depending on your sense of humour. There are also a lot of amateurish photoshops, some which are funny and others which aren't. If you're a die-hard WWE fan who may be a little sensitive about what you read about the company, the chances are that you will not like this book. However, if you think you can have a few laughs at WWE's expense, you should look into reading World Wrestling Insanity.
