William Regal started his wrestling career very differently from most modern wrestlers. He started his career at 15 in the carnivals in Blackpool, England. Regal spent most of the '90s in WCW as Lord Steven Regal. He bounced back and forth between WWF and WCW in the later part of the decade, before finally settling on WWF where he has been ever since. In WCW, he held the Television Championship four times. In WWE, he has held the Intercontinental, European and Tag Team Championships as well as winning the 2008 King of the Ring.

The most intriguing aspect of William Regal may not be his career accolades, but rather his personal demons and recovery from them. Regal writes about what he was thinking at the time - for instance, how he fell badly out of shape and his attempt to justify this as a heel wrestler. Some of the other subjects Regal goes into is his start in the carnivals, working in England, worldwide travels, teaming with a young Triple H, his favourite match and British comedy. He also explains his side of Goldberg incident in WCW, where he took more of the match against Goldberg than anyone else had. Regal uses a lot of English slang in the book, for which there is a glossary for incase you don't know the terms.

There is one problem with the book's layout. It is full of quotes of its own passages - often taking up a full page. With the layout issue aside, Walking a Golden Mile is a very solid offering. Regal is very honest about his drug abuse and the mistakes that he made. If you're interested in reading about Regal's unique entry into the business or his long-time drug abuse and rehab - or if you're just a fan of William Regal, you won't be disappointed here.
