Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of the biggest stars in the history of wrestling. His rivalries and matches with Vince McMahon and The Rock are still talked about today and will be for many years to come. He has sold more pay-per-views and more merchandise than any wrestler in history - in particular the classic yet simple "Austin 3:16" t-shirts. Austin was famous for being the blue-collared anti-hero that did what he wanted when he wanted and raised hell in the process.

The Stone Cold Truth takes the reader through Steve Austin's early life, his family, early aspirations, how he fell in love with wrestling and broke into the business, his territorial days in the USWA, making it into WCW, his firing from WCW, his short stint in ECW, joining the WWF, his early WWF career, becoming "Stone Cold," Austin 3:16 and his other catchphrases, becoming a babyface, his injury at the hands of Owen Hart, his feud with Mr. McMahon, all of the crazy stunts he pulled, walking out on WWE and his return to the company. The book includes comments from Jim Ross as well as his parents at parts to get a different perspective on the events.

The Stone Cold Truth is definitely an apt name for Austin's autobiography. Austin doesn't pull very many punches and tells things the way he sees it. He also doesn't tend to exaggerate very much or brag about his accomplishments beyond simply stating some of them - which is what you would expect from Austin. The chapters are short, so the book ends up reading very fast. Austin does not break down very many of his matches or storylines, although some of the more recent occurrences are covered in-depth. Overall, The Stone Cold Truth does not disappoint and any true Texas Rattlesnake lover will not be disappointed. Solidly recommended.
