Nicknamed "The First Lady of Wrestling," Missy Hyatt worked for several different wrestling promotions, but is likely best known professionally for her run in WCW from 1987-1994. In her career, she managed such names as "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert, Sting, The Steiner Brothers, Tom Prichard, The Nasty Boys and The Sandman. She's also infamous for having dated her share of wrestlers, in particular her marriage to the late Eddie Gilbert.

Growing up as not a wrestling fan, Missy tells the story of how she became interested in wrestling, first becoming a fan, then a ring rat and finally a valet. She writes about breaking in in World Class, moving to the UWF, her brief stint with the WWF, the NWA, USWA, Continental, then finally WCW and ECW. There's also a little bit on her post-ECW independent career, but not very much. Of course, a lot of what she talks about is her relationships with wrestlers (John Tatum, Eddie Gilbert and more), hockey players, football players and even Jason Hervey of the Wonder Years.

Missy Hyatt: First Lady of Wrestling is not a very long read (at well under 200 pages). It's not a literary classic, but it is a light, entertaining read. Missy has a lot of great stories, mostly from her personal relationships. Many of which are embarrassing as you might expect, one involving then-Buffalo Bill Jim Kelly. Because the book is so short, obviously you get the feeling there is a lot missing. She was in the business 15 years and skips over a lot of her career in the business. She even states early in the book that she is going off memory and maybe remember things differently from others, or not at all. It would have been nice if more research was done by the ghost writers. Despite that, if you're looking for an easy read with plenty of gossip, you will enjoy her autobiography.
