Controversy Creates Cash By Eric Bischoff with Jeremy Roberts Published by WWE Books Released on October 17, 2006 400 Pages (Hardcover) Available in Hardcover, Paperback & Kindle |
Eric Bischoff has a long history in the wrestling business. He worked as an interviewer for the AWA from 1987 until 1991, then got a job with WCW. Eventually, he was put in charge of the company in 1996. From there, he took the company to the greatest heights it would ever achieve, and saw it drop to rock bottom in 2001. This history is what made Eric Bischoff's autobiography, Controversy Creates Cash one of the most anticipated wrestling books ever, this side of an unlikely Vince McMahon autobiography.
As former President of WCW, Eric Bischoff has a lot of subjects to touch on. He does his best to give his story on most of them, although his memory seems spotty at best and he does seem to hold certain agendas. And despite the book being 400 pages, he never really goes in-depth into anything. He admits to many mistakes, but also has many excuses, which may or may not be valid. Unfortunately, due to his relationship at the time with WWE, this book could have been more on the honest side.
If you were a fan during the Monday Night War era who followed WCW, you will want to read Controversy Creates Cash. You might want to read this alongside The Death of WCW and draw your own conclusions as to what happened in the dying days of World Championship Wrestling. Eric Bischoff is not only an on-screen character but also a character in real life and it comes off the page, making for an interesting read.
