Currently, Edge is a main eventer in WWE, having won the WWE and World Championships several times each. However, at the time Adam Copeland on Edge was written, he was most famous for the trainwreck TLC matches he had with Christian against the Hardys and Dudley Boyz. He was still only on the middle of the card, on the cusp of rising to main event status. He was even listed as most likely to be WWF Champion in his high school yearbook.

At this point of his career, Edge was sidelined with a neck injury. So what better way to pass the time than to write your autobiography? Adam Copeland on Edge is packed with humourous anecdotes about his life and career. Edge discusses such subjects as what it was like to be raised by a single mother, how he got trained and broke into the business, jobs he had while working on the independent scene, death tours, how he broke into the WWF, teaming with Christian, feuding with the Hardys, starting out as a singles wrestler and winning the Intercontinental Championship.

The main detractors of this book are that it was written relatively early in his career (at this point Edge had been in the business 12 years) and that the book is very short, coming in at just over the 250 page mark in hardcover format. This is not the only wrestler autobiography to be written long before the story is finished, as the Hardys' book had already come out as well as Kurt Angle's. As for the length of the book, it means that the book is paced well and does not include any "filler" chapters. It reads very fast and remains upbeat throughout. Edge has stated that this is only the first part of his story and hopefully a sequel is yet to come, which will be very exciting.
