Some of the big ones are Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Dynamite Kid, Davey Boy Smith, Chris Benoit, Bad News Allen, Jushin Liger and Brian Pillman. Those are just a few of the great wrestlers who passed through Calgary in its heyday.

Pain and Passion is the most comprehensive record about the territory available. It details the various personalities which passed through the territory (many of which are mentioned above) as well as the conditions in which they worked in Calgary. It also covers the history of the dysfunctional Hart family in-depth, such as how Stu got into wrestling, family feuds, legal issues, drug abuse and more.

In Pain and Passion, Heath McCoy has written one of the best books on wrestling today and likely the best documenting a single territory. It is a can't miss for anyone who is interested in learning about this promotion, whether you have some pre-existing knowledge or none at all.
